How To Prepare

To prepare for your Picoway Resolve treatment, here are some steps you can take:

1.     Avoid sun exposure: It is important to avoid sun exposure for at least two weeks before the treatment.

2.     Avoid certain medications: You should avoid certain medications, such as blood thinners, before the treatment as they increase the risk of bruising and complications

3.     Stop any oral or topical medications 3-5 days prior to the treatment (e.g. acne products, retinol or anything that could cause irritation)

4.     Avoid self-tanning skin care products for at least 2 weeks prior to treatment. Any residual self-tanner must be removed prior to treatment.

5.     Avoid botox and filler treatments for at least 2 weeks prior to treatment

6.     If possible, please arrive to your appointment with clean skin

Aftercare

After getting a Picoway Resolve treatment, it is important to take good care of your skin to promote healing and ensure the best possible results. Here are some aftercare tips to follow:

1.     Mild Erythema(redness) and edema(swelling) at the treatment site can occur for the first 8-36 hours. Some patients may also experience itchiness, mild burning and temporary bruising.

2.     Wash your skin gently with a mild cleanser and lukewarm water. Avoid using hot water or scrubbing your skin, as this can irritate the treated area.

3.     Avoid harsh skin care products. Avoid using skincare products that contain harsh chemicals or exfoliants, as they can irritate the treated area.

4.     Protect the skin from the sun: It is important to avoid sun exposure for at least 2 weeks after the treatment to reduce the change of hyper or hypopigmentation. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher. Avoid high heat environments for the rest of the day.

5.     Be patient: It can take several weeks or even months to see the full results of the treatment. Pigmented areas may appear darker or lighter for the first several days, but return to normal pigmentation in about a week.

6.     Avoid picking or scratching: You may see darker spots peeling or falling off in the treatment site, but this is the normal part of the process. It is important to avoid picking or scratching as this can cause scarring.

7.     Makeup can be applied the next day.

By following these aftercare tips, you can help promote healing and ensure the best possible results after the PicoWay Treatment.
